before applying practical knowledge, we first should be acquainted with the theories and philosophies that Ayurveda embraces
Week 2 The 5 Elements and 3 Doshas
This whole creation is made up for 5 elements and these elements form the 3 Doshas (Vatta, Pitta , Kapha). Knowledge of the 3 doshas can help better manage or mental, emotional and physical well being.
Week 3 You are what you eat
Hipprocrates said “Let food be thy medicine”. In Ayurveda it its called ahara and it is one of the pillars of well being in Ayurveda
Week 4 Timing is Everything
Health is dynamic and we need to put attention on it everyday. When we do something is also very important. We will look into the timing of our activities so its supported by the rhythm of nature. This is called vihara in Ayurveda and it forms the second pillar of well being.
In honor of all the mothers out there (in whatever way you like to define that), we are offering discounted Ayurvedic treatments over Mother’s Day Weekend!
$60 for our 1 hour/90 min treatments (normally $108) and $120 for our 120 min treatments(normally $200)
1 Hr Treatments:
Shirodhara- Shiro means head. Dhara is to pour. Pouring warm herbal oils continuously over the forehead is Ayurveda’s best treatment for mental/emotional stress.
Marma- Marma means “hidden” and “vulnerable”. Marma points are the hidden gateways to the subtle life energy in our bodies(prana). Gentle stimulation of these points starts a cascade of beneficial effects in the mind and body. This is Ayurveda’s most restorative treatment
90 min Treatment
Abhyanga- A dance of warm oil over the entire body. In this full body oil massage, warm oil spread over the entire body with sweeping repetitive strokes. This is different from Swedish or Deep Tissue as it is more hypnotic for the mind and body. Body relaxes more and more, releasing deeply held tensions
2 Hr Treatments
Royal Treatment – combines Abhyanga with Shirodhara. This was the preferred treatment of the Queens of ancient India
Lotus Blossum- combines Abhyanga with Marma
Masks are required for all treatments
